An Outing Up at the Cabin, Ev and Rayden
by Ev
Rayden couldn't take his eyes off the twins, peacefully sleeping in the crib. He took Ev into his arms and they watched the babies and listened to their little sounds as they stirred in their sleep. "You've made me happier than I've ever been in my life. You know that, don't you?" He kissed her cheek and settled hercloser against him.
"You've made me happy too. You know what else would make me happy?" She pushed a lock of hair out of his eyes to see the pattern of sparks.
"MMmmmmmmm........ A fire and making love on a white bearskin?" He chuckled into her ear. "That's how the twins got started."
Ev giggled softly against his chest. "I remember."
He glanced at the fireplace and it blazed to life. Then he zapped them to the bearskin, already naked. "I've been wanting you for hours." He chuckled as he snuggled the length of his body against hers. "So who was it who heard us first? Was it you?"
Ev giggled again. "No, it was Kat."
He ground his hips against her and nuzzled her neck. "Why wasn't it you?"
She wriggled against him, licking his face. "I was busy feeding the babies and you know how I give them my full attention. And Jathelle was sharing with me."
He chuckled. "Connor really didn't like the rain."
"So I heard." Ev giggled. "He has the most colorful language when he gets that mad." She nuzzled his neck. "You and Theron looked like you were having a great time."
Rayden started to laugh. "My father was really making Connor mad over poker. He cheats."
Ev laughed and had to force herself to quiet down, so she wouldn't wake the babies. "You're kidding! I can just imagine Connor's face!"
Rayden pulled back a little to watch her laugh. It made him feel so warm inside to see her so happy. He could feel the happy glow extend down his body and he ground his hips against her, letting her feel other aspects of his love. He watched the expressions change on her face and finally drew her against him, nuzzling and kissing every part of her that he could reach.
~"I need you now."~ He thought to her.
Ev grinned briefly as the sound of a growl wafted through from another room, and the sound of creaking bedsprings came from somewhere else. "We have inspiration."
"I could growl for you, too. If you'd like." Rayden slid himself on top of her and growled softly into her ear. He turned it into a purr and slid himself into her, delighting in her reaction to his little game.
She moaned as he filled her and wrapped her legs around him to draw him in deeper. "Do that again." She breathed.
He purred into her ear again as he started the ancient rhythm. The delightful shuddery feeling she had in response to it, ignited him, as well. Their passion erupted over the edge in record time as they moved together driving each other higher and higher, finally spasming together and holding each other through the rapture. They laid together, still connected and finally fell asleep, still in afterglow.
Some time later, the voices of hungry babies woke them. With a sigh, Rayden "unplugged" and let Ev up. She yawned and grinned at him, giving him a kiss on the cheek as she rose from the floor.
Rayven was working up to a really big yell, but he stopped instantly as she picked him up. "Hey, little guy. Have a little patience, huh?" She crooned to him. "Mommy's right here." She kissed his chubby cheek and held him against her shoulder as the last of the sobbing finally stopped.
Rayden picked up a fussy Jaelithe. She stopped her sobbing as soon as he looked into her eyes. She didn't have any words to say yet, but that little lopsided baby smile, had her daddy wrapped around her chubby little finger. He used his powers to get her all clean and fresh again, making her smile harder as he kissed her hand. Then he brought her over to the bed, where Ev was waiting to feed her. He cleaned up Rayven and helped Ev get comfortable in the bed and get the babies settled to nurse. Then he cuddled up behind her and rested his chin on her shoulder to have a good view.
"Did you ever think that having a family would be this way?" Ev murmured to Rayden and sighed happily.
"I had no idea. I didn't know how wonderful the babies would make me feel. I never knew what it was like to be so completely happy." He kissed her cheek and cuddled closer. "You are the most wonderful mate I could imagine."
Ev smiled and leaned against him a little. "Is there a ceremony for mates? I don't know very much about your people's customs yet."
"No ceremony. Mates are just two people who are in love, but don't feel the need to possess each other. They know that they will always be there for each other and even if they play with someone else, they will always be back. The way my parents are."
"That's so sweet. I love the idea of being mates. Its not so..... restrictive. Freer. Together because of love and the joy of being together, not because you feel compelled to by anyone else." She sighed happily in his arms and looked down at the babies. They seemed to be nearly asleep again.
Rayden gently slid off the bed and around to the sleepy babies. He carefully took Jae from Ev's arms to cuddle her against his chest. She blinked sleepily up at him and on seeing her daddy, gave him a brief smile as she cuddled contentedly against him and fell happily asleep. He sat quietly watching her with a bemused smile on his face.
Ev very gently raised Rayven to her shoulder and rubbed his back. He always had a tendency to spit up, if he skipped burping. He squirmed a little in her arms, as though searching for a more comfortable position. Finally he let out a huge burp, making his parents giggle, then settled down with a satisfied look on his face and slept peacefully.
They settled the babies back into the crib and snuggled together in the bed. He couldn't keep his hands and mouth off her. His mouth found her breast and she moaned softly as he suckled. "You taste wonderful." He murmured.
"My own recipe." She grinned. "Glad you like it."
He looked up into her face, with the electricity behind his eyes swirling softly in the pattern she knew meant satisfaction and love. His hands stroked her body, finding all the places she liked. When his hands wandered to find her folds, she was very wet. He experimentally purred for her again.
Ev felt that she was melting. The purring set off vibrations in her breast that he was still suckling and made her whole body suddenly warmer. She moaned and spread her legs to him.
He purred again, this time attached to the other breast, and he ground his hips against her to let her know that he was nearly ready, too. He loved to play with her body.
"Please......." She managed to say.
He chuckled and moved up her body to lick and nibble at her neck, while his hard, weeping member teased at her opening. He didn't have the heart to keep it up for long, though. He finally moved up to capture her mouth, just as he thrust into her.
She cried out into his mouth and wrapped herself around him, drawing him deeper. If she could speak at that point, she would have begged for him to do it *now.*
"Patience." He whispered. "There's no rush, is there?"
She whined softly and ground against him.
"All right." He grinned and kissed her forehead. The rhythm he started was slow and sensuous. His hands went to her breasts, but gently. He didn't want it to be over too soon. "I love you."
Ev reached out to him with her mind and entwined it with his in a new way she had never tried before. They both gasped. Each could feel through the other's senses as well as their own. There was no stopping or slowing anything now. All the shared mind could focus on was the pure physical pleasure their bodies were generating. There was no thought, no awareness, except of their bodies.
Rayden was briefly surprised, but there was no time to consider what was happening, as he was drawn into the pleasure of it. There was nothing to do but enjoy. Time ceased to exist, they squirmed and thrust together, driving each other higher and higher into passion and finally over the top to a breathless, fiery climax.
They clung together still throbbing in afterglow as their breathing returned to normal and their minds, if not their bodies, separated. It was a long time before either of them could speak.
"How did you think of that?" He murmured into her ear.
"I don't know. Just experimenting. I gotta remember that." Ev snuggled close against him.
"Mmmmmm.......... yes......." He nibbled at her ear. "I was going to teach you something tonight, but now........." He pulled back just enough to look at her face. "Would you like to take a walk in the woods? I'd like to show you why this place is so special to me."
"I'd love that!" She looked over at the babies. "Are we bringing them with us?"
"I'll show you how to monitor them. They'll be perfectly safe and we'll know the instant they wake." He looked into her eyes and showed her in his mind, the pathways to keeping a connection to the sleeping babies.
Ev eagerly absorbed this lesson. She learned faster than he had expected. It was fun to show off for him.
Rayden hugged her tight. "You always find ways to surprise me. You fascinate me."
Ev smiled, at a loss for words. Finally she found something to say. "You wanted to take me for a walk?"
He apologized mentally as he had to separate from her to get up, making her grin. "First, we'll need to be dressed. This time, let me choose. In the city, I wear what you want. Its my turn here."
He stood up and in a shimmer of electricity, dressed himself in his white robes, looking very sexy in Ev's eyes. Then he turned to help her up and grinned as he looked at her. "Would you prefer purple or blue?"
"Purple." She grinned at him, wondering what he had in mind. "If Carol gets jealous, that's just too bad."
He chuckled softly as she was engulfed in an especially tickly shower of sparks and found herself dressed in a lovely, silky soft sort of full length tunic in a royal purple color, with little sparkles of some sort woven into the cloth. It was fairly plain, with a golden belt and a matching pendant with what looked like a giant amethyst on it. There was edging on the hem, the bottoms of the sleeves, and around the neck, a wide band with a white Celtic design. "It's beautiful!"
"You are a goddess now and here, you should look like one. You make a lovely one."
Ev looked down at herself. "What am I the goddess of?"
"I don't know. We'll have to wait and see what sort of talents you have. We know a couple of them already." He smirked. "But I don't think you can be a goddess of THAT."
She giggled. "Damn! Oh well...." She snuggled against him. "Let's go for that walk."
He hugged her and zapped them out into the forest by his *short cut.* They reappeared in a small clearing deep in the forest. A small stream babbled quietly to itself along one side. There were a couple of large boulders that were just the right size to sit on. A narrow footpath was visible winding into the trees from the clearing. Around this small area, several types of tall, graceful trees stood shoulder to shoulder as far as the eye could see. The moon wasn't full, but it gave enough light, along with the bright starlight, to see.
"Its beautiful here." Ev inhaled the fragrance of evergreens, fresh air, and some sort of flower that bloomed at the edge of the clearing. She happened to glance down and saw that the purple garment sparkled even more in moonlight and starlight than it had in the cabin. With an effort, she turned her attention back to conversation. "Are we going to walk down that path?"
"We're going to sit here on the rocks. I have some friends who will come down the path." He led Ev to sit on one rock, while he took the other. "I think you'll like them." He sat quietly for a moment, his eyes focused on some far distance. "They will be here soon."
"What sort of friends are they?" Ev smiled.
"In your reality, they are considered myths. In this one, they are very real and when I lived here, I got to know some of them very well."
Her mind was racing. She could think of a lot of myths. Which one could it be? She glanced over at Rayden, who was just grinning at her. Then there was a noise somewhere in the trees along the path. A group of unicorns came out into the clearing. They were magnificent! Tall and graceful creatures with horns that gleamed faintly in the moonlight.
The largest was black as night, he had the most beautiful, intelligent eyes. He paused and regarded the two of them quietly, while the others seemed to fidget. Then he nodded solemnly to Rayden first, and then to Ev.
"This is my friend. He calls himself Midnight. He brought his family to see us. The dappled gray female next to him is his mate. She calls herself Star. These others are their children."
Ev turned back to look at them in delight. "I'm so pleased to meet you. You are so beautiful! I've never met unicorns before."
An answer formed itself wordlessly. "We are pleased to meet you, too. We heard that Rayden had found a mate. We also heard about babies." The handsome unicorn looked toward Rayden and a definite aura of humor emanated from him. "Its about time!"
Ev laughed softly. "The babies are asleep in the cabin right now. We'll be sure to bring them out for you to meet, when we can. Right now they're very young."
Rayden smiled at his old friends. "I see you have quite a family now. Star, does he keep you busy?" He chuckled.
Star's voice was sweet and feminine. "Oh yes, he does. I have the impression the two of you keep each other busy, too."
Ev giggled. "Oh yes!"
Star studied Ev. "I'm glad you are here now. It will be nice to get to know you." She glanced back at her children. They were fidgeting and snapping a little at each other. "I'm afraid I'll have to go. They're getting tired. They fight when they get tired."
"I suppose mine will too, when they're a little older." Ev grinned. "I'm really glad I got to meet you tonight. We'll be back and bring our babies next time."
"I'm looking forward to it." Star answered with a grin in her voice, then turned and ushered her children back the way they had come.
Midnight had been studying Ev during her conversation with his mate. "Somehow, I knew he would find a human mate. He made a good choice. I'll be looking forward to meeting again." He turned and disappeared into the forest.
"I've known them a long time. They are very good friends. I'm glad they like you. Midnight doesn't say that to just anyone, you know."
"They are so beautiful! I never imagined I would ever really meet a unicorn. So much larger than I pictured them, too!"
Rayden smiled and kissed her hand. "I thought you would get along with them. I'm so glad."
"I see now why you love this place."
"I have some more friends for you to meet. These friends are a little different." He chuckled. With a drift of controlled lightning, he zapped up a big bowlful of chicken nuggets.
Ev grinned. "What are those for? Late night snack?"
"We can have some, but they're mostly intended as extra incentive for my little friends." He took a nugget and started to nibble on it.
Ev took one and took a bite. She hadn't realized until that moment that she was hungry. These really hit the spot. She suddenly realized that Rayden was projecting out into the forest. An invitation to join them. She looked around curiously. Nothing yet.
"They are waking up now. Daytime would be better for them, but they'll come." He smiled.
Suddenly, there was a soft popping sound and a beautiful creature that looked like a miniature dragon was hovering in midair. It had beautiful metallic-looking scales and eyes that glowed softly in a whirling kaleidoscope of color. It tilted its head and looked at them both, obviously very interested in the nuggets.
Ev grinned in delight and very slowly took a nugget from the bowl and carefully offered it to the gorgeous little visitor. It studied her for a moment, tilting its head first one way, then the other, then carefully approached her and took the nugget from her fingers. It settled beside her on the rock where she was sitting and very daintily tasted the chicken.
Rayden grinned. "Very good. Brace yourself now."
Before Ev could ask what he meant by that, there was a sound almost like popcorn as a flock more of the little creatures appeared around them. They seemed to come in every color of the rainbow, but with a metallic look to their scales. The first one seemed to be the largest. Each of them seemed intent on the nuggets.
Rayden took handfuls of nuggets and handed one to each of the gleaming creatures. "These are fire lizards. Like dragons, but much smaller. Aren't they beautiful?"
"Oh yes!" Ev watched as a couple of the smaller ones had a tug-of-war over a nugget. One of them actually fell as the nugget came apart. She giggled and gently picked up the beautiful creature. It seemed to be all right. More embarrassed than physically hurt.
"The males are the ones with the gold ridge down their backs. The rest are females and young. I had some of these as pets when I lived here a long time ago."
"I love them! Do you think this one is hurt?" She looked down and stroked the blue one on her lap.
"I don't think so. She just likes you." Rayden very gently reached out to stroke a large green and gold one. He offered it a nugget and it allowed him to pick it up. "They're very friendly."
"Would it be ok to bring them back to the cabin, do you think?" Ev smiled.
"If they want to come. We can try it. If they don't want to stay, they'll just pop back outside."
"The babies are starting to wake up again and I'm getting tired. Let's go back. Maybe these two will come with us." She looked around at the fire lizards all flitting around the clearing and munching nuggets. She couldn't help but giggle. "These would be a big hit with people in the city. They're just so CUTE!"
Rayden grinned. "We'll see." He paused and zapped them back to their room in the cabin. The fire lizards seemed startled, but then curiosity took over and they were perfectly happy to stay. Rayden zapped up a sort of nest for them on the floor near the bed and left a bowl of water and a bowl of nuggets out for them. It seemed that the babies had drifted off again without fully waking, but Ev was very tired. He zapped them out of their clothes and under the blankets, cuddling against her and smiling as she fell asleep.
