TO SEE OR NOT TO SEE
Sarah Jo had a wonderful Sunday dinner prepared for Duende, Dani and her two guests, Duncan and Kolya. There was delicious chicken that had been fried to a beautiful gold brown color, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn on the cob, green beans and tender buttermilk biscuits. All this was followed by a deep dish apple pie served with several scoops of vanilla ice cream on it. The four men ate like they were starving and wiped out all the food she had prepared. When they were done they were completely stuffed.
After they helped carry all the dishes to the kitchen, the four men disappeared into the living room to watch the pro football game. Dani reappeared long enough to grab four beers out of the fridge before vanishing again, leaving Sarah Jo alone to finish loading the dishwasher. The only one keeping her company was little Huckleberry Finn who was perched on his window seat so he could watch both her and the birds outside.
Sarah Jo began a one way conversation with the cat, since at least he was giving her the impression he was interested in what she said. After the dishwasher was started she went into the living room and sat down. Finn followed her into the room as well and perched on the back of her chair while Padraigh scampered over begging for attention. The four guys were yelling at the players on the TV and never even noticed her presence.
After awhile, Sarah Jo gave up trying to watch the game and got up. Her feline shadow followed her up the stairs and sat on the end of the bed watching her as she flopped down beside him to give him some scratching and loving while telling him her opinions of football and men.
"You know, Finn, I bet I could walk through that room butt nekkid and not a one of them man persons would give me the time of day," she said absently mindedly. Finn agreed with her with a loud meow. Sarah Jo looked thoughtful, then a broad wicked looking grin spread across her freckled face as a scheme began to hatch in her head.
Jumping up, Sarah Jo began to strip off her clothes, giggling as she did so. "Ah’m gonna go right back down and see if anyone does, Finn!" The cat just laid down with his paws tucked underneath him and purred. Once her clothes were off, Sarah Jo looked at her bare body in the mirror as she undid her braids and brushed out her long thick hair. Her hair was now almost down to waist when it was down and it hung about her in waves. Sarah Jo then arranged her hair so that it semi-covered her nudity. "Ah can’t believe ah’m even thinkin’ about doing this, Finn!" she said with a giggle. The cat just responded by purring even louder.
Then, breathing deep to gather her courage, she left the room and went downstairs, her bare feet making no sounds as she went. She quietly entered the living room again and sat back down in the chair she had just vacated a few moments ago, waiting to see if anyone would notice. They didn’t. The men were still totally engrossed in the game. Even the dog was now sound asleep at Duende’s feet.
Sarah Jo had a choice now. She could leave quietly and no one would ever realize the stunt she just pulled or she could go a step further. Oh well, she thought, whole hog or none. She waited until a big play had them all them excited and chose that moment to get up and walk in front of the TV.
She immediately got yelled at by all of them to get out of the way as she blocked their view of the critical play. She paid them no heed, just continued on out the other door of the room, her long hair swaying across her bare back as she walked away. Sarah Jo chuckling softly to herself as the shouting suddenly stopped and a stunned silence now emanated from the living room. Apparently her Lady Godiva act had just dawned on them. Grinning, she dashed up the stairs two at a time and threw herself face down on the bed, laughing merrily at the little joke she had just pulled.
Finn looked up at her and purred his approval of her return. "I did it!" she told him as she stroked his silky smooth fur. "Now the only question is if any of them will have the nerve to come up here to check to see if what they thought they saw was real!"
